ABOUT US
Collective Movement actively seeks to encourage and promote performing opportunities within the local community. Our ethos is to inspire a new generation of dancers through engaging with performers of all ages and abilities. We will afford them the opportunity to perform in local, established theatres in front of large enthusiastic audiences. By providing and creating a space of equal opportunity for young people and adults across the performing arts sector, Collective Movement will facilitate everyone the same chance to be seen on the same platform.
At Collective Movement we passionately believe that everyone should be able to access and explore the experience of theatre from a young age. Our aim is to give as many performance opportunities as possible, allowing dance schools access to professional theatres without the constraints of costs and affordability.
Collective Movement is a non-competitive performance showcase in a professional theatre setting. There is no theme to the show and all styles of dance are not only welcomed, but actively encouraged.
By working with Collective Movement Principals will not only be giving their students the opportunity to perform to sell out auditoriums, they will also be supporting two local charities Crawley Open House and St Catherine's Hospice.
Schools will also have the chance to gain a £500.00 bursary from Collective Movement for a dancer/dancers to further their training for the year ahead. (full information is available on the website).

WHY COLLECTIVE MOVEMENT?

PATRON

ROMESH RANGANATHAN
Collective Movement is proud to announce Romesh Ranganathan as our Patron.
Romesh was delighted to join us and promote Collective Movement’s ethos as he is keen to support our chosen charities, the local community and especially the opportunity to provide children with an accessible platform to perform. Furthermore, Romesh advocates the development of affordable training for all and we are excited to announce that he has agreed to match the bursary of £500.00 being offered by Collective Movement and therefore one lucky dance school will be receiving £1000.00 to further the training of a selected student(s) within their school.

BURSARY AWARD
THE BURSARY AWARD
Collective Movement in conjunction with our patron Romesh Ranganathan will award a £1000 bursary for a student (or students) to further their training at their dance school. This is open to all schools taking part and will be given to the school that independently raises the most money for our chosen charities, Crawley Open House and St Catherine’s Hospice. Not only are we passionate about providing opportunities to the dancers in our community, we recognise the vital role that the Performing Arts schools play in this journey. Our Bursary Award will facilitate further training for a performer(s) that may not be able to access this otherwise, and we will track their journey throughout their time with the Award.

OUR SHOWS
All dance schools are offered two performance slots (one in each Act). Allocated slots are a maximum of 5 minutes each. Each performance must have a minimum of 12 participants and a maximum of 24. All our shows are run in accordance with the local licensing authority under a BOPA (Body of Persons Approval), therefore each school will be required to provide one licensed chaperone per 12 students.
Parents, friends and extended family are invited to watch and can obtain tickets through the Hawth box office. We ask all schools to actively encourage ticket sales as a full audience provides the best atmosphere for our performers.
